Underrepresented Histories:

The Hatfeilds of Morden Hall Park and their Links to the Virginia Tobacco Trade

In February 2020, Misha researched and authored a report for the National Trust on the connections between Morden Hall Park, London, the home of the Hatfeild family - tobacco merchants and snuff-mill owners - and slavery in nineteenth-century Britain and America.

Her research confirmed links to slavery in Virginia, and will be used to change the narrative that is presented to the public at the property.

The research was published in the National Trust report into links with colonialism and historic slavery at its properties, which you can read here.
